Innovation Guild Launches to Support Seattle Children’s Healthcare Innovation Initiatives

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (April 19, 2022) – A group of Seattle Children’s employees and community partners launched the Seattle Children’s Innovation Guild to advance biomedical innovation for all children.

The Innovation Guild’s startup initiatives facilitate pediatric innovation by addressing two key unmet needs:
• Availability of domain expertise, and
• Supply of early-stage capital for exploration.

Initiatives such as microgrants for specific projects, mentoring for the industry’s next generation of innovators, and direct collaboration with Seattle Children’s Improvement and Innovation team drives intentional, immediate impact in the community and beyond.

The Innovation Guild’s overarching goals are to:
• Encourage, facilitate, and fund pediatric innovation,
• Promote external collaboration to increase impact and foster improved standards of care with better outcomes, and
• Provide transparency in its efforts

“We are excited to announce the launch of the Innovation Guild and invite community members, academic and industry partners, and our faculty and staff to join us in speeding much-needed pediatric medical innovation,” said Seattle Children’s Innovation Guild president Chuck Magness. “Our children deserve no less.”

Founded by industry leaders Chuck MagnessJeff RohDevin Prenevost, and Chuck Porter, the leadership team brings years of experience and expertise to drive the Guild’s mission forward while recruiting new members, partners, and volunteers.
